As always, we value customer feedback. The characters were uninteresting and I was unable to merely see them as vehicles for the underlying message. She views herself as an inherently unworthy vessel for Nikhil’s love. The tale clearly presents the rabineranath of love and union time and time again, going from Nikhil and Bimala’s marriage, through the love triangle created by Sandip, and once again returning to Bimala’s rabindarnath for Nikhil at the very end.

Though the joint-family is linked to ancient India, it is still prevalent in modern-day India. She is part of the country, but only knows the home and her home is a mix of cultures. My favorite aspect of the novel is the remarkable transformation of Bimala from a traditional woman to an awakened citizen who contributes to the movement.
